We left Las Vegas at 9am Saturday and landed in Glasgow at 6:30a on Sunday morning. The flights weren't too bad. We got lucky and drew exit rows seats for the Glasgow flight. It was nice to stretch out. My feet were so cold that it was hard to sleep though. At 6:30a, there are no clean rooms in the hotel, so we couldn't check in. The hotel staff was very gracious and we were able to check our bags with them. We ate a delicious, greasy breakfast and made some plans to kill time until we could we could get into a room. As it turns out, the bus runs to Glasgow City Centre every 15 minutes or so. We hopped on a bus and landed on George Square in Glasgow 20 minutes later.
The scenery was very lush. Green, thick trees and bushes everywhere. The city itself is very well appointed as well. Some parts definitely show that the city is old, but it is very modern for the most part. With the help of a city map we navigated around and mostly looked in shops. We had coffee at a small shop and saw some guys dressed in Highland regalia playing bagpipes and drum in the streets.
I picked up a good bottle of Caol Ila Scotch Whiskey and we mostly wandered about until around 1pm. By then we were tired and headed back to the hotel. Gratefully, we were able to check in and we wasted no time in getting to a nap. We woke up, ate and drank in the hotel bar and Carol schooled me at Cribbage. Carol crashed, but I stayed up reading the Dresden Files until around 1:30am. Good Night Glasgow.
